It would be easy to tell this as a story about heroics – the crew that rode to the rescue at midnight. It is not. The reason it went smoothly is dull and deliberate: the van was stocked before the call ever came, the route was checked, the price was fixed so nobody was negotiating at 1am, and the insurance was already in place.
